At our school, we believe that learning should not stop when students leave the classroom. Completing learning activities outside of lessons helps students to revisit and remember what they have learned, strengthening their knowledge and improving long-term retention. It also helps students to develop the independent study habits they will need as they move on to high school, where regular homework is an important part of learning.

 

What is Seneca Learning?

Seneca Learning is an online, interactive learning platform that provides engaging activities, quizzes and questions linked directly to what students are learning in class. The platform is designed to support knowledge recall and understanding through short, manageable learning tasks.

An additional benefit of Seneca is that teachers can see how students are performing on their homework. This allows them to identify areas where students are secure in their learning, as well as areas where they may need further support. Teachers will use this information to help plan future lessons and ensure that learning is tailored to students' needs.

 

Support Available

We understand that some students may need support when accessing a new online platform and completing their assignments. To help with this, we will be running a Seneca Lunchtime Club every day in the IT room. This club will be staffed and available for any students who need assistance with logging in, accessing tasks or completing their homework.

 

Parent Platform

All parents will have access to a parent account. Once logged in parents will be able to view all homework assignments that have been set for your child, monitor their progress, and see how much time they have spent completing learning on the platform. This will provide a useful insight into your child’s engagement with homework and help you to support their learning at home.
