Welcome

It is my great pleasure to take over as Principal at Church Hill and to introduce you to our website. I hope to provide you with an insight into the wonderful work that the team has completed and that will continue to grow and flourish under my lead.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to achieve social justice through excellent schooling, fostering a legacy of mutual trust and respect. We strive to create an environment where a love of teaching inspires a love of learning, enabling every individual to thrive. By prioritising the raising of standards in Church Hill, we empower our students to achieve great outcomes with kindness, resilience, and hard work at the heart of all we do.

Social Justice through Excellent Schooling

At the heart of our vision is our commitment to social justice, achieved through excellent education. As a core value of the Central Regions Schools Trust we are committed to ensuring every student, regardless of their background, has access to high-quality learning opportunities so we can help break cycles of disadvantage and create a more equitable society. This means not only focusing on academic achievement but also fostering a sense of belonging, fairness, and opportunity for all students.

We work extensively with the Central Region Schools Trust leads, and local feeder schools to ensure the best possible curriculum and transition program are in place to maximise student knowledge retention and unlock future potential.

Building a Legacy of Mutual Trust and Respect

Creating mutual trust and respect is essential for fostering a positive, inclusive school culture. This requires consistent communication and collaboration between educators, students, families, and the wider community. When trust is built, students feel more supported and motivated, and families feel empowered to engage in their children's education. Respect for diversity and individual differences should be central to this environment, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Love of Teaching; Love of Learning

Great schools are driven by a love of teaching and a love of learning. Teachers who are passionate about their craft inspire students to embrace learning as a lifelong journey. In turn, when students develop a love for learning, they become self-motivated and inquisitive, building the foundation for future success. Professional development for teachers, opportunities for coaching, and a culture of continuous learning should be prioritised to maintain high standards in both teaching and student outcomes.

Our Core Values (as per the student, staff and parent votes)

  1. We are kind
Kindness is the foundation of our community. We treat everyone with empathy, compassion, and respect, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where all can thrive.
  2. We are resilient
We embrace challenges with determination and courage. By cultivating resilience, we empower individuals to overcome obstacles, adapt to change, and persevere in the face of adversity.
  3. We are hardworking
We believe that success is achieved through dedication and effort. A strong work ethic drives us to continually improve, strive for excellence, and achieve great outcomes together.

By focusing on excellent schooling and raising standards, we have created an educational environment that not only promotes academic excellence but also uplifts the entire community of Church Hill. Social justice can be advanced through an intentional, holistic approach to education, where every student is empowered to reach their full potential, and where the entire community works together to ensure that all children have the opportunities they deserve.
